Bratchikov A. Y. Method for improving the surface quality of parts and cutting properties of grinding wheels This article discusses a method of increasing the cutting ability of the grinding wheel by their impregnation (impregnation) cutting-active substances in grinding hard materials for example steel 0H18N10T. The experiments found that impregnation of laps increases their resistance to 1,5-2,0 times while significantly improving the quality of ground surfaces. Special crowns for cutting out tubes containing defective SFAs and welded to MFB lepse storage plate The special cutting tools — crowns — are developed by JSC „Afrikantov OKBM" to cut out tubes containing defective spent fuel assemblies (SFA) and welded to the storage plate aboard the Floating Maintenance Base Lepse. The crown design is determined by the limiting dimensions and harsh processing conditions. Based upon the conditions, a whole range of solutions provided by cutting tool innovators are used in the crown design and geometry. As part of development work, JSC „Afrikantov OKBM" conducted testing to define the design of the crown with the sharpening geometry that is most effective for cutting in adopted cutting modes. The combined use of design solutions resulted in the development of quick-detachable tools capable of operating under severe conditions in radiation environment.
