Oleynik A. P. A spatial kinematic model of chip curling with variable rake face tools in metal cutting

In most studies, researchers consider that in metal cutting chip curls in the normal to the tool cutting edge plane (up-curl) and in the tool rake face plane (side-curl). Recent studies prove conclusively the existence of the third pattern of chip curl that is called lateral-curl. Based on an

analytical modeling, a new kinematic model is presented for the chip curling with complex tools in metal cutting. It is demonstrated that chip forms can be determined by the follow variables: the chip up-, side- and lateral radii, the chip side-flow angle and the cutting tool parameter that is taking into account variable conditions of chip flow with the tool rake face. It is shown that variable conditions of chip flow with the tool rake face contribute to intensification of chip lateral-curl. A computer-simulated chip forms were programmed to show more clearly the effect

of velocity of chip lateral-curl on chip forms. Design metal-cutting tools based on kinematic model of chip curling considering the three patterns of the chip will optimize a complex, curved geometry of the tools rake face that extends chip control and chip breaking capabilities. In the present article the operation of ionic chemicalheat treatment for the purpose of high-quality powder’s receiving is considered. As a result of this operation carbides, borides, nitrides of refractory metals and alloys are formed; also it provides a necessary complex of thermophysical and mechanical properties. The process is carried out of one or gases’ mix: nitrogen, fluorine, carbonic gas, acetylene, fluoric boron, etc. The design of specialized installation for realization of chemicothermal treating’s operation is considered. One of the effective ways of a decrease of the intensity of wear process of an electrode-tool in the course of electroerosive processing is a torch transport to its working surface of a material of processed preparation. The article presents results of an experimental study of elemental and phase composition of a film formed upon the electrode-tool working surface.

The technological possibilities of the method vibration burnishing to form a regular microgeometry surface to enhance performance properties of machine parts. The results of studies to improve the wear resistance and fretting resistance surfaces of parts with regular microgeometry in lubrication conditions, and in its absence, including for heavy mining machinery units, often working under extreme vibration. The comparative method vibration burnishing of tribological characteristics compared with a number of wearresistant coatings in the conditions of fretting.

The technology of the combined surface hardening of the steel workpieces consist of electromechanical treatment (EMT) and the subsequent surface plastic deformation (SPD) is considered. The results of the study the damping properties of hardened EMT + SPD steel 45. Steel samples before and after their strengthening by means of SPD, EMT, EMT + SPD have been compared to study the principles of mechanical energy dissipation. The received results can be used for method to reduce dynamic loading of components operating under cyclic loads and vibrations
